Artistas unidos por un planeta mejor

Juanes y otros cantantes se dieron cita en el concierto honorífico a los Premios Nobel de la Paz
El pasado martes se celebraron en Oslo, Noruega, los Premios Nobel de la Paz. Artistas de la talla de Juanes, Alicia Keys, Kylie Minogue, Annie Lennox y Melissa Etheridge cantaron en contra del calentamiento global, según informó la agencia de noticias AP.
Quien también estuvo presente en este importante evento fue el ex vicepresidente Al Gore. Y no sólo como invitado, tanto él como el panel intergubernamental sobre el Cambio Climático de las Naciones Unidas obtuvieron el reconocimiento por los esfuerzos para evitar lo que él llama “una emergencia planetaria”. Los cantantes aprovecharon este momento para crear conciencia sobre este problema mundial. “Lo principal es concientizar y comunicarse con todo el mundo y compartir nuestra preocupación por el planeta”, dijo la actriz Uma Thurman, de 37 años, quien fue la anfitriona de la ceremonia.

“Para mí, el Premio Nobel de la Paz es un reconocimiento extremadamente distinguido para quienes trabajan en serio por hacer cambios importantes en el mundo”, manifestó por su parte Keys, de 26 años.

Como dato curioso, Al Gore destacó la necesidad de hacer las paces con el planeta y añadió que “la Tierra tiene fiebre, pues cada día el mundo produce 70 millones de toneladas de contaminación causantes del calentamiento global, sobre todo dióxido de carbono a la atmósfera”.
